Kennedy Way Shopping Development: Work Commences

Work has finally got underway for the long awaited redevelopment of The Kennedy Way shopping precinct in Immingham. The scheme includes a new Poundstretcher, B&M Bargains and a Tesco Supermarket. It is hoped that all major works will be completed by late autumn, with the stores opening by Christmas.
Cllr Dave Bolton, ward member for Immingham said “I promised residents I’d make this a priority and I’m delighted that it is happening during my term of office. It will make a huge difference to the town, and combined with the other improvements, such as the A180 by-pass, which commences shortly; we are really starting to see the fruits of our labour.
The project has been a long time coming, with plans being first drawn up over 10 years ago, and it has been beset with problems, but over the last couple of years, things have moved quickly and with luck another piece in the jigsaw will finally be complete.
